Disappointed, even irritated, with the departure of the 26-year-old winger to Paris Saint-Germain, Xavi, the Barça coach, could however have a new element in his workforce, thanks to this transfer. It shouldn't be Neymar, the Brazilian from PSG, whom the year-old Spaniard wouldn't want in his squad, reveals ace. The 31-year-old attacking midfielder is also making great strides towards Saudi Arabia, and Al-Hilal, with Marco Verratti.

Currently, the hottest lead from the reigning Spanish champion is the one leading to a Premier League defender.

A defense loan?

Despite the mismatch between the position of the starter, Ousmane Dembélé – right winger – and that of the possible newcomer, namely right side, FC Barcelona has indeed entered into discussions with Manchester City regarding the transfer of João Cancelo. The 29-year-old Portuguese has been cited in the Catalan club for several weeks already, without any progress appearing in the file. Saudi Arabia has even looked at the right or left side, without success, for the moment.

According to information relayed by Sport, FC Barcelona has started the process with Manchester City, to convince the English club of the usefulness of a new loan – with option to buy – for the Lusitanian international. Indeed, João Cancelo was temporarily transferred to Bayern Munich last January, without success, since the Portuguese did not stay in Germany this summer. But not being part of Pep Guardiola's plans, the former Juventus and Inter player is invited to leave before the end of August.

FC Barcelona's interest in Cityzen is therefore good news for the English team, even if the side will have to make an effort on his salary to be able to join the Spanish club.
